Gameday: Stars’ California Reunion Tour Continues With Pavelski Taking On Old Team In San Jose

The Dallas Stars have been on a bit of a reunion tour in California this road trip. First, the suspended Corey Perry was greeted and celebrated when the Stars took on the Anaheim Ducks. Then, they recognized Andrew Cogliano in that same game between plays while he was on the ice helping the team to a 3-0 win.

Tonight, it is Joe Pavelski’s turn to take on his former team when the Stars take the ice at the SAP Center to faceoff against the San Jose Sharks. Pavelski hit his 1,000th game this season with the Stars; 963 of those came in a Sharks sweater. He has had a lasting impact on the teammates and fans in San Jose, so you can imagine that it’ll be an emotional one for him.

If winning it for your guy in the room isn’t enough motivation for the Stars, tying a franchise record for seven straight wins is just another storyline to watch in the game tonight. If they accomplish the feat, it’ll be the second time the Stars have tied that franchise record just this season.

DALLAS STARS LINES

Not much of a change for the Stars in terms of the way they’ll line up tonight, though John Klingberg remains out of the lineup. Joel Hanley (D) was returned to the Texas Stars this morning, which likely indicates that he is close to returning. Maybe we’ll see Klingberg back in on Tuesday when the team wraps up this road trip with a matchup against the Colorado Avalanche.
