DBD Fundraiser: Last Day to Give Donations In Honor of Rich Peverley

We’ll get to the breakdown of the Dallas Stars Game 2 loss to the Anaheim Ducks here in a few hours, from a breakdown of all the advanced statistical domination that was eventually for naught to reactions to the series goaltending.

But first, a final bit of housekeeping to take care of.

If you’re new to the site, or somehow missed my 17 posts about it, we’ve been running a fundraiser in honor of Rich Peverley for the past month or so. The goal is to purchase an automatic external defibrillator, in cooperation with the Plano-based charity Living for Zachary, to be donated to an organization in the Metroplex that works with young people.

We reached our initial goal of $2,000 in the first 10 days and are past $2,500 at this point, which is amazing. And today is the final day you can make a donation (or pay up on the pledge you made based on the results of the make-up game against the Columbus Blue Jackets) to the cause.

The fundraiser ends about 20 minutes after midnight tonight, and you have until that point to get your donation in.

DBD CrowdTilt Fundraiser

We have been collecting donations at the above-linked CrowdTilt site. There are still a few stragglers out there waiting to pay up their game-based pledges at the very last minute, so make sure you get those in today.

No matter how this series ends and how the season eventually ends for the Stars, and no matter how cranky that may eventually make us here on the site, this is something positive we can hang our hats on.

We’ve done good, y’all. Thank you so much for helping us make this happen.
