Stars Training Camp Roster, Schedule Released

The Dallas Stars released their training camp roster and the schedule of on-ice sessions open to fans this afternoon. They’ll bring 63 players to camp this season, including 37 forwards, 20 defensemen and six goaltenders. The roster also features six professional tryout invitees and two amateur tryout invitees, such as Dallas-native Stefan Noesen and NHL journeyman Scottie Upshall.

Here’s the full roster of players expected at training camp, with the first on-ice sessions scheduled for Friday, September 13th:

Schedule

All on-ice sessions are open to the public. We’ll keep you posted on which sessions the big players are on the ice so you can plan better if your time is limited, but we highly recommend you stick around for all of them as you’ll get to see some of the future Stars in these sessions too.

What’s important to note about this season’s training camp is that there is not a Green vs White scrimmage like years past have featured. That’s likely a function of the fact that the team plays their first preseason game on Monday, September 16 at the American Airlines Center. It will be one of seven preseason games before the Stars drop the puck on the regular season at home on Thursday, October 3rd versus the Boston Bruins.

Preseason Schedule

Monday, September 16th vs St. Louis Blues (7:30 PM CDT)
Tuesday, September 17th @ Minnesota Wild (7:00 PM CDT) TV: Fox Sports Southwest
Thursday, September 19th @ Colorado Avalanche (8:00 PM CDT)
Saturday, September 21st vs Florida Panthers (BOK Center in Tulsa OK, 7:00 PM CDT)
Tuesday, September 24th @ St. Louis Blues (7:00 PM CDT)
Thursday, September 26th vs Minnesota Wild (7:30 PM CDT) TV: Fox Sports Southwest Plus
Saturday, September 28th vs Colorado Avalanche (5:00 PM CDT)

Stay tuned to see if there are any road games that will be broadcast by the opposition or streamed on their websites. As always, when we know, you’ll know. Make sure you’re following along on our Twitter page @DefendingBigD for live thoughts from training camp and preseason games not televised.
