Dallas Stars Reassign Radek Faksa to Texas Stars
Get ready for Ales Hemsky.
It looks like the Stars are swapping Czech forwards.
Center Radek Faksa has been sent back down to Texas in what looks like a move to clear a roster spot for bringing Ales Hemsky back from Injured Reserve.
Faksa's second stint with Dallas was fairly quiet, as he played in four games and gathered a single assist. He was a -1 over those four games, averaging about 8:30 in ice time per night.
Just like the first time Faksa was reassigned, the big center has been performing well enough in the checking role he's been given. He will almost surely be back again this season when a spot opens up, but the Stars' forward lines have been more crowded than expected this year with Mattias Janmark's ahead-of-schedule emergence, which is a good problem to have.
The Stars haven't released anything official about Hemsky yet, but that seems to be the corresponding move here. Since Dallas doesn't play until Friday, they can keep Hemsky on IR until then while sending Faksa down to get playing time in Texas.

Dallas Stars General Manager Jim Nill announced today that the club has reassigned center Radek Faksa to the Texas Stars, Dallas' top development affiliate in the American Hockey League (AHL).
Faksa, 22, has appeared in 18 games for Dallas this season registering three points (1-2=3) and a +1 plus/minus rating. He scored his first career goal on Nov. 6 at Carolina against Eddie Lack. At the AHL level with Texas, he has posted 13 points (9-4=13) in 19 games played.
The 6-foot-3, 210-pound native of Vitkov, Czech Republic was selected by Dallas in the first round (13th overall) of the 2012 NHL Draft.
