Dallas Issues Qualifying Offers to Valeri Nichushkin and Jamie Oleksiak

As expected, the Dallas Stars announced qualifying offers Monday to four of their restricted free agents.

Jamie Oleksiak and Valeri Nichushkin were the most notable names to be issued QOs, while Texas Stars players Matej Stransky and Maxime Lagace were also qualified.

Everything shook out more or less as expected, with Oleksiak still facing a tough situation on a Dallas blue line chock-full of prospects. Lagace is expected to be back in Texas, while Phillip Desrosiers will likely head to Idaho in order to log more minutes rather than backing up Lagace, who was less likely to be qualified until his surprising surge early last season. Lagace’s push saw him earn the number one job in Texas for a large chunk of the season before faltering a bit later on, but his age and recent history still make it likely that he gets another crack at the top Texas job.

Emil Molin, Taylor Peters and Troy Vance were the other RFAs. Vance and Molin are likely headed to Europe, while Taylor Peters has retired, per Sean Shapiro.
