Dallas Stars Prospect Update: Remi Elie Has Seven Point Week, Cole Ully A Six Point Week And John Nyberg Loaned To The Allsvenska

OHL

Remi Elie had a very good week for the Belleville Bulls, scoring seven points in three games. He had two assists in the Bulls’ 7-4 loss to the Niagara IceDogs on Thursday. Both assists were primary assists, one on the powerplay and one early in the third period. Elie was on the ice for two the IceDog’s even strength goals. Highlights of the game can be found here.

Elie dominated the second game of the week on Saturday, a 6-4 win against the Sault Ste. Marie Greyhounds. He finished with two goals, two assists and was named first star of the game for his efforts. Both his goals came in a four goal first period for the Bulls—he scored at even strength and on the powerplay. He also had the primary assist on the opening goal from Jordan Subban as well as assisting on the Bulls last goal late in the second period.

Remi Elie would add another goal during a 3-2 win against the Sarnia Sting on Sunday evening. His goal was the game winner with just over a minute left in the third period. He was awarded third star of the game for his efforts.

Remi Elie now has 16 points through 10 OHL games, good for 6th in the OHL scoring race at the time of writing.

Jason Dickinson played three games this week for the Guelph Storm and had a goal and an assist. Both came during a 6-5 loss to the Kitchener Rangers on Monday. He scored one of two shorthanded goals for the Guelph Storm in their loss. He would assist on the Storm’s late powerplay goal. The highlights of the game can be found here.

Aaron Haydon played in three games this week for the Niagara IceDogs. He finished with two goals in back to back games.

Haydon’s first goal came late in the third period in a 7-4 win against the Belleville Bulls. He scored an empty net goal, which was also a shorthanded goal, and finished with a plus three rating in the game. Highlights of the game can be found here.

He also scored a goal in 3-2 loss to the Guelph Storm on Friday. He scored the tying goal half way through the third period.

Brent Moran managed to backstop the Niagara IceDogs to their first wins this week. In three games he managed to get two wins, averaging a 0.913 save percentage. Moran was third star of the game in their 3-2 loss to the Guelph Storm, letting in three goals on 40 shots.

Alex Peters only played part of a game this week for the Plymouth Whalers and missed their game on Saturday. He was injured halfway through the first period and hasn’t played since.

Patrick Sanvido had a single assist through three games for the Windsor Spitfires. His assist came during a 8-5 win against the Saginaw Spirit on Thursday. His assist came on their 7th goal of the game. Highlights can be found here.

WHL

Brett Pollock scored five points in four games this week for the Edmonton Oil Kings. In a 3-2 win against the Victoria Royals, Pollock had two goals and finished as second star of the game. In a 6-4 win against the Saskatoon Blades, he had three assists and a powerplay assist. Highlights of that game can be found here.

Cole Ully became leader in the WHL scoring race, at the time of writing, with 20 points in 13 games with the Blazers. He had six points through three games with two goals coming in the Kamloops Blazers 6-4 loss to the Kelowna Rockets. One of Ully’s goals was scored at even strength and the other was scored on the powerplay. He was named the second star of the game. Highlights of that game can be found here.

He followed this up with a four assist performance against the Seattle Thunderbirds in a 5-4OT win. All his assists were primary assists and he finished as the second star of the game.

QMJHL

Philippe Desrosiers played two games with the Rimouski Oceanic this week. He had a 0.957 save percentage in a 2-1 win against Chicoutimi. In his second game of the week, he let in three goals on 21 shots, finishing with a 0.857 save percentage and backstopping them to a 3-0 loss.

USHL

Matej Paulovic played in a single game this week in the USHL. He finished pointless in a 4-3 win for the Muskegon Lumberjacks.

NCAA

The University of Maine lost both their games against Union College this week. Devin Shore went pointless through both of their contests.

Mike Prappavessis went pointless through the two games with RPI. They lost to Denver 3-0 on Friday and again on Saturday, 4-1.

Europe

Sweden

Ludwig Bystrom played in two games for Farjestad this week and went pointless through both contests. He averaged 20 minutes per game.

Niklas Hansson had a single goal through three games this week. He scored at equal strength in a 4-0 win against Timra. He and Emil Molin went pointless through the other two contests. They averaged about 19 minutes and 13 minutes on ice per game.

John Nyberg had two assists for Frolunda J20 this week. He had an assist in their 5-4 loss on Wednesday and another in their 3-1 win against Sodertaije on Saturday. He also signed a contract with Frolunda until 2017 last Monday. The Frolunda press release can be found here.

It was announced on Thursday that Nyberg had been loaned for two weeks to IK Oskarshamn. This is a good sign that they think Nyberg is developing into a good player. The press release can be found here.

Finland

Esa Lindell had four points in the last three games—two assists and two goals. He averaged nearly 26 minutes per game over those three games. He was reunited with his defensive partner Garrett Stafford and the pair got their chemistry back very quickly.

Aleksi Makela had an assist through two games that he played with Ilves this week. His assist came during a 4-3 win over JYP on Saturday.

Miro Karjalainen did not play again this week.

Russia

Dmitry Sinitsyn played three games this week and went pointless through all of them. He averaged 20 minutes per game.
