Dallas Stars Prospect Update: Pollock’s Four Point Week, Good Week In Finland

North American Juniors and NCAA

OHL

Alex Peters played two games for the Flint Firebirds and finished pointless through both of them. He has 8 points in 37 games.

Brent Moran started in net twice for the Firebirds this week. He made 26 saves on 30 shots in his first game, a 4-3 loss to Sarnia on Friday, an 0.867SVS%.

In his second game he was pulled after two periods after allowing five goals on 22 shots, a 0.773SVS%. Moran has yet to win a game with the Firebirds.

Chris Martenet had two points through two games for the London Knights this week. He got a goal, his second of the year, and an assist during a 8-3 loss to the Windsor Spitfires on Saturday. It was a bit of a messy affair for the Knights, highlights of which can be found here.

Martenet has 10 points through 47 games this season.

Aaron Haydon got his second goal of the year this week. Through three games the defenseman finished with a single goal.

He got his goal during a 6-1 win against the Sudbury Wolves on Friday. Haydon opened the scoring just over a minute into the first period.

Haydon now has 9 points through 45 games this season.

In three games this week Patrick Sanvido finished pointless. He has 7 points through 30 games this season for the Spitfires.

WHL

Brett Pollock only played two games this week in the WHL but finished with four points.

During a 4-3 win over the Brandon Wheat Kings on Friday Pollock assisted on Dysin Mayo’s powerplay goal. It would count as the game winner for the Oil Kings. Highlights of the game can be found here.

On Sunday Pollock would finish a 6-2 win over the Kootenay Ice with a point shorthanded, a point at equal strength and a point on the powerplay.

Pollock got assists on Colton Kehler’s powerplay goal early in the second period and an assist on Dario Meyer’s equal strength goal that tied up the game at 2-2.

Pollock finished off the game with a shorthanded goal late in the third period. He was named second star of the game. Highlights of the game can be found here.

USHL

Matej Paulovic played a single game this week in the USHL. He went pointless in the contest.

NCAA

Mike Prapavessis played two games in the NCAA this week. He went pointless through both but according to the lineup he was on the first defensive pairing.

Joseph Cecconi finished pointless through two games for Michigan this week. He did finished with a plus 2 during Michigan’s two wins over Penn State.

Europe

Sweden

In three games with HV71 Niklas Hansson finished pointless. His ice time has stablised around 16 minutes per game and he is seeing regular action on the second defensive pairing. He has 18 points through 31 games this season.

John Nyberg played three games in the SHL for Frolunda this week. He went pointless through both of them and saw his ice time come down sharply in the final game. He played an average of 14 minutes through the first two games and less than three minutes in the third.

Finland

Roope Hintz had a pair of assists through two games this week in the Liiga. Hintz got an assist during a 3-2 win on Wednesday and added another assist during a 5-3 win on Sunday. He now has 9 points through 20 games this season.

Aleksi Makela went pointless through four games in the Liiga this week. He has a single point through 28 games this season.

Troy Vance had two goals, his first of the year, and an assist through four games this week. He scored two during a 3-2 win over TPS on Wednesday. He added his assist during a 5-4 loss to the Pelicans on Friday.

Henri Kiviaho did not play this week in the Liiga.

Miro Karjalainen played a single game in the Finnish juniors and finished without a point.

Russia

Denis Guryanov went pointless through three games in the KHL. In two of those games he played more than ten minutes.

Dmitry Sinitsyn got his first point in the KHL this season this week. He got the assist during a 5-2 win on Sunday.
