North American Juniors and NCAA
OHL
Alex Peters scored his first goal of the year for the Flint Firebirds this week. He scored the first goal of the game, unassisted, during a 7-4 win over the Ottawa 67's. The goal was scored on a snapshot from just above the cycles after intercepting an attempted pass out of the zone.
Highlights of the game can be found here.
Chris Martenet had a pretty good week in the OHL, finishing with two assists through three games for the London Knights.
Both assists were during an 8-6 win over the Hamilton Bulldogs during a multiple goal surge at the end of the first period for the Knights. Highlights of the game can be found here.
Aaron Haydon continues to remain pointless on the season through ten games. The IceDogs played three games this week.
It continues to be a rough patch for Brent Moran. He played just over half the game on Thursday before he was pulled after letting in three goals on 14 shots.
He would play the full game on Sunday but would allow four goals on 30 shots. Moran's save percentage isn't in a particularly good place right now, at 0.858SVS% on the season.
Patrick Sanvido is still out for the Windsor Spitfires.
WHL
Brett Pollock continues to maintain a good pace with the Edmonton Oil Kings. Through ten games he has maintained his point per game pace.
In his two games this week he had an assist in each game. The first assist came during a 4-2 loss to the Regina Pats on Friday. He had the primary assist on a powerplay goal. Highlights can be found here. The assist came from feeding the one time that made it past the goaltender.
On Saturday Pollock would add another assist during a 3-2 loss to the Moose Jaw Warriors. He had the secondary assist on Tyler Robertson's goal. Highlights can be found here.
USHL
Matej Paulovic had a single assist for the Muskegon Lumberjacks this week. The assist came during a 7-2 loss to the Chicago Steel.
Paulovic has two points in four games this season.
NCAA
Mike Prapavessis had a good week in the NCAA with a pair of assists through two games for the RPI Engineers.
Both assists came during a 4-3 loss to Alaska Anchorage on Friday. Both assists came on the special times, one on the powerplay and the other shorthanded. He's mostly been put on the top defensive pairing according to the game sheets.
Joseph Cecconi got his first regular season NCAA games this weekend. He went pointless through both games but has been moving between the second and third defensive pairings.
Europe
Sweden
Niklas Hansson played two games this week for HV71, including a monster three point game on Saturday.
Hansson scored two goals, including the overtime winner, and got an assist in a 4-3 win over Djurgarden. The highlights of this game are pretty impressive. His opening assist, see here, happens as a direct result of a retip of his slapshot from the point.
His first goal, see here, was again a result from a slapshot from just above the circles that went through a lot of traffic to the back of the net.
His second goal, see here, is a thing of beauty at both ends of the ice. He makes the key defensive play to stop a goal straight into the open net before being getting straight back up and getting the pass for a one on one with the goalie that he scores.
John Nyberg went pointless through the last two games for Oskarshamn. He averaged around 19 minutes of ice time per game through those two games.
Finland
Troy Vance played three games in the Liiga for Assat going pointless through all three. Vance is averaging over 25 minutes of ice time per game for the Finnish club.
Aleksi Makela returned to Ilves following a stint in the Mestis. He went pointless in his return and played over 12 minutes of ice time.
Henri Kiviaho got his first ice time of the season as he came in as relief last week. He stopped all eight shots he faced in a 3-2 loss to Saipa.
Roope Hintz is still out injured for HIFK.
Miro Karjalainen had a single assist through two games for HIFK J20. He got the assist in a 3-2 shootout win on Saturday.
Russia
Denis Guryanov played two games this week in the KHL, going pointless in both of them. He averaged less than ten minutes of ice time in each of those two games.
Dmitry Sinitsyn played three games in the VHL this week and finished with a goal and an assist. Both came during a 3-1 win last Tuesday.
