North American Juniors and NCAA
The CHL leagues (WHL, OHL and QMJHL) all finished their regular seasons this week. They'll start their playoffs in the next week.
OHL
The OHL's regular season finished this week with four Dallas Stars prospects claiming playoff spots. Remi Elie, Jason Dickinson, Aaron Haydon and Brent Moran all finished high enough to feature in the playoffs. Patrick Sanvido's Windsor Spitfires fell short while injured Alex Peter's Plymouth Whalers also failed to reach the post season.
Remi Elie's point streak ended at nine games this week as he finished with just one goal in two games played this week. He scored his goal, an empty netter, in a 7-4 defeat of the Windsor Spitfires on Thursday. The goal was his 30th of the year, he scored 16 of them in his 28 games with the Erie Otters. Highlights of that game can be found here.
Elie finished with 76 points through 63 regular season games split between the Erie Otters and Belleville Bulls. In the OHL Coaches Poll, Remi Elie was voted the hardest worker in the OHL's Western Conference. He also finished third in the best penalty killer in the OHL's Western Conference.
The Erie Otters face the Sarnia Sting in the first round of the OHL playoffs. These games begin on Thursday 26th March.
Jason Dickinson had his point streak broken at eight games for the Guelph Storm but had three points in three games this week.
Dickinson scored a goal and registered an assist as the Storm lost 4-3 to Owen Sound on Friday. The goal was his 26th of the season, matching his goals total from last season. The assist was his 44th of the year. Highlights of the game can be found here.
On Sunday, Jason Dickinson had a single goal in the Guelph Storm's 6-2 win over the Sarnia Sting. His goal was number 27, a career high for Dickinson in the OHL. He was named first star of the game for his play. Highlights of the game can be found here.
Jason Dickinson was voted the best defensive forward in the OHL's Western Conference. He finished with 71 points through 56 games.
The Guelph Storm face the Owen Sound Attack in the first round of the OHL playoffs. These games begin on Friday 27th March.
Aaron Haydon played three games with the Niagara IceDogs this week and finished with a single assist. He got his assist in a 8-7 loss to the Erie Otters on Sunday. He also picked up a five minute major for slashing. Highlights of the game can be found here.
Haydon finished with 25 points this year through 60 games. This is an improvement on the 16 points he had last season. He'll return to the OHL next year.
Brent Moran played a single game with the Niagara IceDogs this week. He made 26 saves during 5-2 win on Saturday against the Mississauga Steelheads. He finished with a 0.929SVS%. Highlights of the game can be found here.
His season total finished 18-18-1 with a single shutout and a 0.891SVS%. He'll return to the OHL next year to play.
The Niagara IceDogs face the Ottawa 67s in the first round of the OHL playoffs. Those games begin on Thursday 26th March.
Patrick Sanvido played three games this week and finished with a single assist. He got his assist during a 7-4 loss to the Erie Otters on Thursday. His assist came on Jamie Lewis' shorthanded goal early in the first period. Highlights of the game can be found here.
Sanvido finished with 11 points in 59 games this season, with OHL career highs in goals scored, assists and point totals. He'll return to the OHL for next year's season. The Windsor Spitfires did not make the OHL Playoffs.
Alex Peters is still out recovering from surgery. He suffered an injury eight games into the season and has not played again since. He'll be ready to play in next years season.
WHL
Brett Pollock had a single goal this week in three games played for the Edmonton Oil Kings. He scored his goal in a 3-2 win against the Red Deer Rebels on Saturday. He racked up 14 penalty minutes in the game with an unsportsmanlike conduct minor, a roughing minor and a 10 minute misconduct penalty, all within the space of three minutes. Highlights of the game can be found here.
Pollock finished the regular season with 62 points through 70 games with the Edmonton Oil Kings. He had seven points more than the nearest Oil King, Lane Bauer with 55 points. He had a career year in goals and matched his assist totals from last season.
The Oil Kings start their first round WHL playoff series on Thursday 26th March against the Brandon WheatKings. He'll return to the WHL for next season.
Cole Ully played three games this week and extended his point streak to ten games. He had five points through three games this week. The Kamloops Blazers played all three games against the Prince George Cougars in a last ditch attempt to clinch a playoff spot. They would fall short however.
Ully had a single assist during a 4-2 loss to the Cougars on Wednesday. He had the secondary assist on Ryan Rehill's 7th goal of the year. Highlights of the game can be found here.
On Friday he scored his 34th goal of the year in a 3-1 loss to the Cougars. He got his goal just under halfway through the third period to put the Blazers within one of tying the game. Highlights of that game can be found here.
In his final WHL game, a 5-2 win on Saturday, Cole Ully finished with a trio of assists. He assists on Matt Needham's 25th of the year and goals from Patrik Maier and Logan McVeigh. Highlights of the game can be found here.
Cole Ully finished the year fifth in scoring in the WHL with 94 points through 69 games. He was one of only six players to have 90 or more points in the WHL this season. After signing an entry level contract earlier this year Ully will likely sign an ATO (Amateur Tryout) with the Texas Stars. Of the time of writing this had yet to happen.
QMJHL
Philippe Desrosiers played three games as the Rimouski Oceanic finished the season. The Oceanic won all three of those games and finished as the best team in the QMJHL with 99 points through 68 games this season.
Philippe Desrosiers had a shutout in a 3-0 win against the Shawinigan Cataractes on Wednesday, saving all 24 shots he faced. He was named second star of the game with his shutout.
He had a 0.900SVS% in a 4-3 win against the Quebec Remparts on Friday, saving 27 of the 30 shots he faced in the game. Desrosiers finished off the season with a 5-4 win against the Remparts, letting in 4 goals on 29 shots faced, a 0.862SVS%.
Philippe Desrosiers was awarded the Jacques Plante Memorial Trophy. It is awarded at the end of each regular season to the goaltender who finished with the best goals against average in the QMJHL.
I believe the Rimouski Oceanic play their first round against the Victoriaville Tigres.

Frolunda had fallen behind 3-1 in the series but won the last two games to tie the series at three. They'll play game seven on Tuesday.
Mattias Backman only played two of the three games for Linkoping this week. He finished pointless in the two games he played, averaging around 14 minutes of ice time. He missed the last game due to illness. Linkoping currently lead the series 3-2 against HV71 and play game six today.
Rogle played the first two of their SHL promotion games against Vasteras this week, winning both games. In Tuesday's 4-3 win both Emil Molin and Niklas Hansson went pointless. Hansson played 15 minutes and Molin played 11 minutes. On Friday, Rogle win 4-3 again and Niklas Hansson would finish with a single point in the game, an assist. Hansson averaged 15 minutes in the game and Molin played 10 minutes.
Rogle play game three of the series today.
John Nyberg played three playoff games in the J20 in Sweden this week for Frolunda J20. He finished with a single goal in those three games. He scored a shorthanded goal in a 6-3 win on Saturday against Orebro. Frolunda J20 will now advance to the quarterfinals and play MODO.
