Dallas Stars Prospect Update: Cole Ully Has Second Six Point Week In A Row

North America

OHL

Remi Elie played two games this week and finished with a goal and an assist. He scored both of these during a 4-3SO win against the Sarnia Sting on Friday. His goal was scored on the powerplay early in the second period. Highlights of the game can be found here. Elie is currently the 8th top scorer in the OHL.

Jason Dickinson played four games this week for the Guelph Storm. Through those four games he had two assists. Both assists were on goals scored during a 5-2 win against the Windsor Spitfires. He assisted on the final two goals of Pius Suter’s hat trick. Highlights of the game can be found here.

Aaron Haydon registered a single assist through three games this week. During an 8-4 loss at the hands of the Erie Otters, his assist was on former Dallas Stars prospect, Cody Payne’s goal just under 14 minutes into the first period. He went pointless in the other two contests for the Niagara IceDogs.

Brent Moran backstopped the IceDogs to two losses this week. He was pulled half way through the game facing the Erie Otters after letting in six goals on 25 shots, a 0.760SVS%. The Otters currently have three of the OHL’s top scorers, including 2015 NHL Draft prospects Connor McDavid and Dylan Strome.

He also played in the IceDogs 5-2 loss to the Kingston Frontenacs. He let in three goals on 43 shots, he was pulled for the extra attack with a minute left in the third period. The Frontenacs’ got their two other goals here, with the empty net situation. He was named second star of the game for his efforts. Highlights of the game can be found here.

Alex Peters is still out for the Plymouth Whalers after suffering a knee injury several weeks ago.

Patrick Sanvido got his third assist of the season for the Windsor Spitfires. He had the primary assist on Slater Doggett’s OT winner in a 5-4OT win over the Mississauga Steelheads. Highlights of that game can be found here.

WHL

Brett Pollock had a relatively quiet week for the Edmonton Oil Kings. He had a single assist in three games played. He assisted on Lane Bauer’s game winning goal. He went pointless through the other two games.

Cole Ully had a very impressive week for the Kamloops Blazers with six points through the three games he played. This is his second straight six point week. It puts him on top of the WHL scoring race with 26 points through 16 games played.

He had a goal and an assist in a 7-2 win against the Vancouver Giants on Wednesday. He opened the scoring and would assist on Matt Needham’s game winning goal three minutes into the second period. Highlights of the game can be found here. He was named first star of the game for his performance.

Ully would add three assists in an 8-5 loss at the hands of the Brandon Wheat Kings. He’d assist on two even strength goals in the first period and have a primary assist on Deven Sideroff’s powerplay goal just under 12 minutes into the third period.

During the Blazers 2-0 shutout of the Tri-City American’s Ully would add another assist. It would be his sixth point of the week. Ully would also register a fighting major in the game.

QMJHL

Philippe Desrosiers played two games for the Rimouski Oceanic this week. Despite back stopping them to two wins he had one quite ugly game and another quite good game.

He allowed four goals on 23 shots during a 6-4 win against Gatineau, good enough for a 0.828SVS%. He would follow that up with a 4-2 win against the Rouyn-Noranda on Friday, good enough for a 0.931SVS%.

USHL

Matej Paulovic played two games this week for the Muskegon Lumberjacks. Both games were against Green Bay and the Lumberjacks won both of them. Paulovic had a goal and an assist in a 4-2 win on Friday. He has six points through 10 games now.

NCAA

Devin Shore and the University of Maine played two games this week against Alaska Anchorage. They got their first win of the season on Friday in a 3-1 win that Shore went pointless in. He would get his first assist of the year in a 3-3 tie the next day.

Michael Prapavessis played two games for the RPI Engineers on their second defensive pairing. They lost both of their games against Bentley, 5-2 on Friday and 4-0 on Saturday.

Europe

Sweden

Ludwig Bystrom played three games this week for Farjestad, going pointless throughout all of them. Farjestad would lose all three of these games but Bystrom remained on the second defensive pairing. After he played over 21 minutes on Wednesday, due to a teammate being kicked out of the game, he averaged 13 minutes per game for the rest of the week.

Niklas Hansson and Emil Molin played three games this week for Rogle. Molin would go pointless while Hansson would register a single assist. Hansson averaged 21 minutes on ice per game, Molin played limited minutes through those games.

John Nyberg would start his two week stint with IK Oskarshamn this week and he played two games. He went pointless through both of them and played under 13 minutes per game.

Finland

Esa Lindell played two games this week and went pointless through both of them, he still averaged 25 minutes on ice per game however. Assat lost both of those games. Lindell was also selected for the Finnish national squad at the Karjala Cup Tournament that takes place in November. It’s a round robin tournament between Finland, Russia, Sweden and the Czech Republic.

Aleksi Makela only played a single game for Ilves and finished pointless in it. He played over 15 minutes during that game, a 3-2 loss to Karpat.

Miro Karjalainen has still not returned to action in the Finnish Juniors.

Russia

Dmitry Sinitsyn played three games for Dynamo Balashikha this week, averaging 14 minutes of ice time per game. He’d go pointless as Dynamo took two out of the three wins this week.
