Dallas Stars Prospect Update: Brett Pollock Hits Seven Game Point Streak

North America Juniors and NCAA

OHL

Remi Elie played three games with the Belleville Bulls this week. He had three assists, two against the Oshawa Generals and one against the Owen Sound Attack. Belleville lost both of those games, 6-4 to Oshawa and 3-2 to Owen Sound. You can find highlights of both of those games respectively here and here.

Jason Dickinson played a pair of games for the Guelph Storm, and he registered a single assist. The assist came on a powerplay goal during a 9-3 defeat of the Plymouth Whalers on Friday. Highlights of the game can be found here.

Aaron Haydon had two points through two games for the Niagara IceDogs this week. He scored the lone goal in a 2-1 loss to the Saginaw Spirit on Friday. He’d follow this up with an assist in a 2-1 loss to the Plymouth Whalers.

Brent Moran played a single game for the IceDogs, back stopping them to the 2-1 defeat to the Whalers. He saved 30 of the 32 shots he faced, a 0.938SVS%.

Alex Peters is still out of the lineup, recovering from surgery following injury.

Patrick Sanvido played three games and went pointless for the Windsor Spitfires.

WHL

Brett Pollock played four games this week with the Edmonton Oil Kings. He’s currently on a seven game point streak, with seven points through the last four games, and 14 through the streak. He had a single assist during the Oil Kings 5-4OT loss to the Regina Pats. Highlights can be found here.

He followed that performance with two goals and a +3 rating in a 3-2OT win against the Moose Jaw Warriors. He scored the game tying goal late in the third period and would score in overtime unassisted to clinch the win. Highlights of the game can be found here.

Following his two goal performance against Moose Jaw on Wednesday he made it one better on Friday in a 7-4 loss to the Brandon Wheat Kings. He score a natural hat trick, all over 53 seconds of ice time. Despite this he still couldn’t help the Edmonton Oil Kings to victory. He was named second star of the game for his effort however. In their second game of the week against the Wheat Kings Pollock got a single assist in a 5-4OT loss.

Cole Ully played three games this week for the Kamloops Blazers and had five points through those games. He scored the Blazers only goal in a 2-1 loss to the Spokane Chiefs.

He followed this up with a two point performance in a 4-1 win against the Portland Winterhawks on Wednesday. He opened the scoring and assisted on Mike Winther’s powerplay goal early in the second period.

In the final game of the week he had a goal and an assist in a 5-2 win against the Prince George Cougars. He assisted on a powerplay goal late in the second period and added a goal late in the third.

QMJHL

Philippe Desrosiers played a single game this week for the Rimouski Oceanic. He was pulled after 30 minutes in net after letting in four goals on 13 shots, a 0.692SVS%. The Oceanic would lose that game 8-2, neither of their goaltenders had good save percentages.

USHL

Matej Paulovic had a good week with three goals through two games for the Muskegon Lumberjacks. He scored two goals in a 3-0 shutout of Waterloo and had a goal against Bloomington in a 4-3 win on Sunday.

NCAA

Devin Shore played two games this week, one game against Boston University and another against Boston College. The Maine Black Bears would lose both of the games. Shore had a single assist in a 3-2OT loss to Boston University.

Mike Prapavessis and RPI only played a single game this week, a 1-1OT tie . He went pointless in the contest but remains on their top defensive pairing.

Europe

Sweden

Ludwig Bystrom would play three games with Farjestad this week in the SHL. Farjestad would lose all three of the contests. He averaged around 17 minutes of ice time per game and went pointless through those games.

Niklas Hansson and Emil Molin went pointless through Rogle’s two contests this week. Hansson averaged 19 minutes of ice time per game and Emil Molin averaged 10 minutes per game. Hansson has returned to Rogle’s top defensive pairing.

John Nyberg had a single assist through two games for Frolunda J20 this week. His assist came during a fraught 4-1 win against Vaxjo. He was assessed a minor for fighting late in the game, one of five players to be assessed penalties for fighting late in the third period.

Finland

Esa Lindell played two games this week for Assat, averaging 25 minutes on ice time per game. He score the tying goal early in the third period during a 3-2 win for Assat against HIFK. He was named second star of the game for his effort.

Aleksi Makela played in a single game for Ilves, a 5-2 win against HPK. He had just over 15 minutes of ice time playing on their second defensive pairing.

It still appears that Miro Karjalainen is still not playing in the Finnish junior leagues.

Russia

Dmitry Sinitsyn played two games for Dynamo Moscow this week and averaged 18 minutes of ice time. He had his first KHL point, an assist, in a 4-1 win again Urga on Wednesday.
