The Dallas Stars announced today that the club has recalled forward Jason Robertson from the Texas Stars.
Robertson, the Stars’ second round pick in the 2017 NHL Entry Draft (39th overall), currently leads Texas in scoring with 35 points (20 goals, 15 assists) in 49 games as a rookie. That’s in large part due to his recent performance, as he’s played at a point-per-game pace over his last 11 contests.
To make room for Robertson on the roster, Dallas has placed Alexander Radulov on injured reserve. Radulov was initially injured due to a collision with Denis Gurianov in last Friday’s game against the Minnesota Wild, and it’s likely he re-aggravated that injury this past Tuesday against the Carolina Hurricanes. His placement on injured reserve is retroactive to February 11th, meaning that he will not be able to return until next Tuesday, effectively eliminating him from the lineup for this eastern Canada road trip.
With Joe Pavelski still dealing with a day-to-day injury of his own, it’s possible Robertson could make his NHL debut tonight against the Toronto Maple Leafs, who, as luck would have it, drafted Robertson’s younger brother Nicholas this past year in the 2019 NHL Entry Draft.
