Good morning, Dallas Stars fans — or should I say, fans of one of the two (2) undefeated teams remaining in this still-young NHL season. Ho-hum, another five-goal game. Surely there’s no reason this can’t last absolutely forever….

  • Sean Shapiro noticed that the Stars are engaging in more hockey fights this season. Then he asked himself what it means. It’s good reading. [Shap Shots]
  • Are the New York Rangers in the market for Jason Robertson? Lyle Richardson takes a look at…well, it’s all sportswriter speculation at this point, so calling it a “rumor” is probably overstating the case. [The Hockey News]
  • From around the league: The Philadelphia Flyers are respecting one of their icons with a singular Player of the Game honor — the Bernie Parent Mask. [NHL.com]

#Death Stranding

In places that weren’t Dallas, the #MurderDeathKill Division had a relatively quiet night:

  • The Nashville Predators, on the second game of a back-to-back, lost in regulation for the first time this season. The Toronto Maple Leafs took the 7-4 win in Scotiabank Arena. [NHL.com]

At this writing, there’s still no word on Matt Duchene’s injury evaluation after that Jake Middleton head shot (collision, whatever) last night. But there are other images to discuss….

Oh look, Joe Pavelski and his work son are back on the ice together!

Jamie Benn couldn’t play in the home opener, but The Captain was still there to support.

ESPN’s Emily Kaplan goes there in a new video on the move that probably cost Pete DeBoer his job…and what Otter did after.

Finally

Alex Petrovic — 11:39 TOI, 17 PIM. You darn right he got the hat. Enjoy.
