Dallas Stars Daily Links: Failure

The Dallas Stars largely outplayed the Vegas Golden Knights last night, outshooting them 34-21 over the course of the game. However, they ultimately lost 3-2 in overtime, unable to get more than a couple goals past backup goaltender Laurent Brossoit:

“They came on hard in the third, we battled back… but it was one of those nights where the puck just wouldn’t go in,” [head coach Rick] Bowness said. “At least we put a lot more shots on the net and we had a lot more scoring opportunities, so that’s the good news. It’s disappointing to lose that point, but we certainly did a lot of good things.”

That optimism seemed to be the prevailing opinion around the Stars in their post game press conference. The Stars have yet to win a game in regulation, but they believe they’re on the right track for success:

“You know, goals are hard to come by in this league,” [Luke] Glendening said. “There’s going to be a lot of tight games, and we’ll just continue to work on that and keep getting better.”

…

“We want to build on tonight, for sure,” Bowness said. “Offensively, that’s the best game we played. Zone time and quality chances were clearly on our side. The puck’s got to go in here at some point, so we’ve just got to stay with it.”
