Dallas Stars Daily Links: Not So Top Gun

Many things could be said about yesterday’s overtime loss to the Winnipeg Jets. But it seems that the takeaway that has stuck most is that the Dallas Stars need more from Tyler Seguin and Jamie Benn:

“I don’t think they’re driving pucks too often,” [Jim] Montgomery said. “In general, our team, not driving pucks to hard areas enough… You need your No. 1 center, you need your No. 1 left winger to step up and do more.”

Seguin is tied for first on the team for scoring, but that’s just 11 points in 18 games. Benn meanwhile has just 6 points, though the Stars captain is trying to keep his chin up:

“We believe that with our system, we’re going to get chances,” Benn said. “Haven’t been successful just because we’ve been lucky as of late. It’s because we believe in what we’re doing. Just got to stick with that.”
