Dallas Stars Daily Links: Time to Respond

After dominating the Vegas Golden Knights in Game 1, the Dallas Stars were in turn pummeled in Game 2.

It was hard for the Stars to build any momentum during the game, in large part due to an excessive number of well-deserved penalties. Add in some failures in the offensive zone and other areas, and you get a dud of a game:

“Those are self-inflicted problems,” [Rick] Bowness said. “They played a great game, give them a lot of credit, but when you lose that many faceoffs and you take that many penalties, there is no chance you can get any flow to your game.”

It was one of those games where you just have to shake it off and move on. Vegas did that successfully after coming out flat in the first game of the series —  now Dallas needs to do the same:

“We expected them to come out hard and respond, they’re a good hockey team,” said Stars center Tyler Seguin. “Vegas is a great team, they’ve been the favorites all along. We expected them to respond, and I expect us to respond next game.”
