Maybe Dallas GM Jim Nill can find a home in Dallas for John Klingberg’s Dad since his presence seems to be helping his son’s offense. Kari Lehtonen had 41 saves on the night and Klingberg’s dagger with 1:07 left on the clock gave the Stars a 2-1 win over the Florida Panthers.
"I don't think we're too much thinking about our record or how we played lately on the road," Lehtonen said. "Just come here and compete and everyone work hard, and just work for each other. Don't really think about the score or past results, and tonight it worked."

Last night marked the NHL debut of forward Remi Elie, who was getting a chance to play with the recent Antoine Roussel injury. Elie had 22 shifts for 15:29 of ice time, with two shots, one hit, one takeaway, and won a face-off. (WFAA8)
Jordie Benn notched his 1st goal for the Le Bleu-Blanc-Rouge.

The best team in the Western Conference got a boost with goalie Jimmy Howard sent down to Grand Rapids (Detroit) for a conditioning stint. Texas was tied 2-2 with the Griffins heading into the 3rd but a gave up a goal off a face-off play in a 5-2 loss last night. (100 Degree Hockey)

With Dallas maybe getting a top 5 pick in this year’s draft, maybe the pool of prospects isn’t that bad. (FanRag Sports)
New York Islanders rookie forward Josh Ho-Sang stirred up some controversy this week when he made his NHL debut wearing #66 on his sweater. This number was made famous by Penguins great Mario Lemieux. Lighthouse Hockey has humorous look if the NHL should retire #66 league wide. (Lighthouse Hockey)
This year the NHL implemented concussion spotters that would remove players from a game if they spotted symptoms. Not a bad rule safety wise but what about when your starting goalie gets pulled. That will be a topic of discussion at the upcoming GM meetings. (Sportsnet)

Could Vegas already have pulled off their 1st move? Eric Fehr was acquired by Toronto last week and some pundits think this move was made to prevent the Golden Knights from raiding the Leafs. (Sin Bin Vegas)

Most of the talk at the trade deadline was where the Avalanche forwards Gabriel Landeskog and Matt Duchene would end up. The Avs are in last place but GM Joe Sakic held on to them. (The Hockey News)
Wonder if this rules change by the WHL will make it to the NHL. Unless the puck is in the crease all goals that go in off a players skate will count, eliminating the review of a distinct kicking motion by referees. (Scouting the Refs)
