Dallas Stars Daily Links: Stars Fail to Finish Off Blues
The Stars will look to redeem themselves tomorrow after a weak Game 6 showing. Plus, the Bishop controversy, a new GM for Edmonton, and more.
In the first round, the Dallas Stars were able to win three straight to knock out the Nashville Predators in Game 6 at home. This time around, the Stars weren’t able to do the same against the St. Louis Blues.
Despite having a trip to the Western Conference Final on the line, the Stars were somewhat flat all game long. Head coach Jim Montgomery too thinks the team was a bit lackluster:
“Didn’t play on our toes to start the game. Thought our second period was good, had some really good looks but we didn’t go tape to tape,” Montgomery said. “Third period wasn’t good enough. Instead of playing together, I thought we played individualistically and I thought they capitalized on it.”
But despite the rough outing, the Stars aren’t dreading the trip back to St. Louis. If anything, many of them are looking forward to playing in a Game 7:
“We’ve played some good games there, we don’t feel afraid going to that rink and playing, but we know it’s going to be tough,” [John] Klingberg said. “No one said it’s going to be easy. They’ve been the top team in the NHL since Christmas and we’re playing Game 7. Should be an exciting game.”

The paperwork still has to get done. Provided all of that is managed today, expect the Oilers to introduce Holland as the new GM in the next few days. Holland will have autonomy and Nicholson could take on a bigger role as well. https://t.co/xnh9eyu6Rh
