Dallas Stars Daily Links: Rise of the Rookies
Both Jason Robertson and Jake Oettinger have performed exceptionally well lately.
Dallas Stars rookie goaltender Jake Oettinger has been receiving a lot of buzz lately, especially after last Tuesday’s game against the Tampa Bay Lightning. He’s been praised by fans, media, coaches, and even his fellow players:
“It was phenomenal by Jake,” said Jason Robertson. “I think there were 20 shots in the first period, and we could not have got that point without him for sure... I think he is one of the better goalies in the NHL as a rookie.”
Of course, Oettinger isn’t the only Stars’ rookie excelling this season — Robertson himself has been on fire lately, notching two assists and a shootout goal in that same Lightning game:
“My confidence just comes from playing really well,” Robertson said. “There is some stuff I could’ve really worked on. I needed to do better in the first period. I thought I could be harder on pucks and getting pucks out and getting more on the forecheck, so we kind of have to roll as a team.

So this is, uhh, a thing apparently:
"It's a delicate thing when fans are running with something. When the team gets involved, it can go bad quickly."@Senators fans created a movement around the "Sicko," an @TheOnion meme. Ottawa embraced it, too. Now both are using it to fight cancer. https://t.co/0xnsDJI7i3
