Not even a year ago, Tye Felhaber was an undrafted skater that most people had never heard about it. Now, the 20 year-old was tearing it up in the OHL playoffs before the Ottawa 67’s fell to the Guelph Storm in the OHL Finals:
“This story is impossible that it really happened but it happened and it’s amazing. It’s just great for kids who are in the same situation. Nothing is impossible,” [fitness guru Tony] Greco said. “If you would have said a year ago ‘Hey look, I’ve got this guy Tye Felhaber and he’s going to sign in the NHL’ people are like ‘You guys are out to lunch.’”
Several teams tried to sign Felhaber to an ELC earlier this year, but it was the Dallas Stars who came out on top. Now Felhaber will start his pro career in Texas, and listening to 67’s general manager James Boyd, there’s good reason for Stars fans to be excited about his future:
“He’s now a reliable defensive player and that was a question before. He’s just a tremendous player. He has turned himself into a legitimate NHL prospect and it has been nice to watch the metamorphosis take place because he’s a tremendous personality and he’s infectious and a real leader on our team. To see him find this success and his dream be realized, has been a lot of fun.”

Rick Bowness was great in his first year as assistant head coach for Dallas, which might lead to some poaching:
