Happy Friday, DBD! One of my fondest memories during grade school was when a teacher would let us watch a movie on a Friday. Nothing was better for the mind than to end a school week like that.
Well, I’m bringing that to you today as we sail into the weekend. Take a few minutes to watch Wyatt Johnston’s full interview with FOX 4’s Jeff Kolb that aired yesterday (Harlan posted a snippet in yesterday’s Daily Links) which covers the 2021 NHL Draft, living with Joe Pavelski and what it would mean winning the Stanley Cup for Jamie Benn.
You can watch the interview here. Enjoy!

Every point matters down the at this point (pun totally intended). One is nice, two would have been better:

It’s a day off the Central Division before everyone hits the ice again tomorrow, with the exception of the Winnipeg Jets.
Speaking of the Jets…

Not entirely surprising…they’ve been playing stellar hockey all season, but the Capitals beat ya to it!
The @NHLJets reached 100-points in a single season for the third time and required the fewest games to hit the mark (70 GP) – four games faster than previous mark (74 GP in 2017-18).#NHLStats: https://t.co/J100kRmnlr https://t.co/H4CyBbdC0k

The World of Chel
Missed some of the action last night because, well, there were TWENTY-EIGHT teams playing? Totally understandable. Here are the results:
Twenty-eight of 32 clubs hit the ice tonight. Did your team pick up two points?#NHLStats: https://t.co/J100kRmnlr pic.twitter.com/45haxKCYlw

In the game of hockey, this is absolutely INSANE.
Brent Burns is skating in his 911th straight game tonight in San Jose and passed a Sharks legend on an NHL list in the process.#NHLStats: https://t.co/J100kRmnlr pic.twitter.com/TFEeDdHxPZ

This is cool and all, but let’s face it, all we really care about is Ovi’s chase to become the all-time goal scorer:

Washington became the first team since 1979-80 to go from being the last team to clinch a playoff spot in one season to the first team to do so the next season. #NHLStats: https://t.co/rQL3t90EkG pic.twitter.com/y6cfg5X1I6
…and on that note…
That's No. 888 for No. 8 as Alex Ovechkin wasted no time getting on the @Capitals on the board in the first period. #Gr8Chase #NHLStats: https://t.co/J100kRmnlr pic.twitter.com/Xz59ln0JCg

Does this mean we would have to divide the state in two?

The Stars may be off, but the Texas Stars and Idaho Steelheads are hitting the ice tonight. The Stars will be facing off against the Chicago Wolves and the Steelheads will be shaving some ice with the Allen Americans.
