There’s nothing like a Victory Monday.

Happy Victory Monday, Dallas Stars fans! Let’s see what’s happening in the Stars infoverse:

  • With Matt Duchene and Nils Lundkvist back in action, the Stars showed their winning resilience yet again, writes Mike Heika. [Dallas Stars]
  • Hey, the Finnish Mafia is pretty popular in Finland, too. Miro and Mikko are the heroes of the hour after last night’s double strike. [Ilta-Sanomat]
  • Jason Robertson should be a Phil Kessel-level shoo-in for the 2026 Winter Olympics. So why is he in danger of staying home, like…oh, Phil Kessel at the 2016 World Cup? Robert Tiffin takes a look at Team USA’s reasoning, or what passes for it. [D Magazine]

Dutchy sounds almost as relieved to be back on the ice as Stars fans are to see him there.

You probably wanted to see this (checks for Razorism) “scorching weapons-grade slapper” again. On repeat. For at least the rest of the day.

The whole dang Stars organization got in on the winning this weekend.

But the biggest Stars-related news was a loss: Former owner Tom Hicks has died at age 79. Play-by-play legend Ralph Strangis shares his memories and ponders the legacy. [RalphStack]

#Death Notes

It was a busy weekend for Cellblock Central. In case you missed it:

  • The Winnipeg Jets had mixed results in a back-to-back — a 4-1 decision over the Buffalo Sabres on Friday, followed by a 6-2 drubbing by the Edmonton Oilers on Saturday. [Winnipeg Free Press]
  • The Utah Mammoth had issues in their own consecutive games, following up a 4-1 win against the Vancouver Canucks with a 2-0 loss to the Calgary Flames. [Deseret News]
  • And the Chicago Blackhawks suffered back-to-back blowouts: a 6-0 loss to the Los Angeles Kings, followed by a 7-1 loss to the Anaheim Ducks. [Second City Hockey]
  • Meanwhile, the Colorado Avalanche broke the pattern, winning a 3-2 shootout over the New York Rangers and a 3-2 regulation decision the next night over the Philadelphia Flyers. [Denver Post]
  • The St. Louis Blues won back-to-backs of their own, taking down the Ottawa Senators 2-1 and the Montréal Canadiens 4-3.
  • The Nashville Predators’ woes continued with a 6-3 dunking at the hands of the Carolina Hurricanes. [NHL.com]
  • The Minnesota Wild got pulled up short, and Jesper Wallstedt got his first regulation loss, in a 4-2 defeat by the Vancouver Canucks. [St. Paul Pioneer Press]

The magic still works. Enjoy.
