Dallas Stars Daily Links: The Man Behind the Stars’ Goalies
Ben Bishop and Anton Khudobin have been fantastic this year, but don’t forget about goalie coach Jeff Reese. Plus, an inside look at Esa Lindell, Jack Campbell is on the move again, and more.
The Dallas Stars have one of the top goaltending duos in the NHL in Ben Bishop and Anton Khudobin. But when praising the Stars’ netminders, some credit needs to be given to their goalie coach, Jeff Reese:
“Reeser plays a big role (in our success),” Bishop said. “He’s the man behind the scenes and does a great job of managing both of us. We watch video with him all of the time. He’s just a great goalie coach … It’s a really good working relationship. It’s not any type of dictatorship.”
Although both Bishop and Khudobin were established goaltenders before coming to Dallas, that doesn’t make Reese’s job “easy.” In fact, one could argue it’s harder because the two goaltenders play very different styles:
“They’re both terrific,” Reese said. “They couldn’t be any more opposite... You start with the size and go right down the line; the way they play, the way they position, the way they are off the ice, too. They’re completely different personalities, but that makes it fun for me.”

Esa Lindell has been great on the ice this season, but what is he like off of it?
Inside the dressing room, Esa Lindell often wears a grin that falls between goofy and mischievous, an expression as if he can hardly contain the wit and wisdom that’s brewing inside his mind, whether the following words are in English or in Finnish. https://t.co/SDTdLxzRAS
