Dallas Stars Daily Links: Hey, Save Some Goals For The Other Teams In The League!

In case you haven’t seen it yet, here are the highlights of all the goals scored in last night’s game between the Dallas Stars and St. Louis Blues:

At this point, what can even be said anymore? The Stars scored an impressive five goals, but like we’ve seen so many times this season it still wasn’t enough, as the Blues scored seven more and won the game.

Instead of waxing poetically about what happened, I’ll let these four Tweets sum things up succinctly:

Yup. Sure did. This kind loss would have been emotionally crushing if Stars fans weren’t quite so used to it by now. That’s definitely not a good sign.

To distract your thoughts away from it, HEY LOOK, A PENNY! Oh, and here’s your daily link fix:

The AHL’s Texas Stars had a big 3-2 shootout win last night to keep their playoff push alive. They now hold the 6th spot in the AHL’s Western Conference. Jack Campbell made 34 saves, while Justin Dowling (who’s quietly been having a very good year) scored the shootout winner. [Texas Stars]

Ballsy: to keep their home barn rockin’ during the playoffs, the Tampa Bay Lightning are only allowing playoff tickets to be sold to Florida residents. Can’t let those pesky White Walkers from up north come south of The Wall to ruin things in sunny Tampa (to all the other Game Of Thrones nerds reading this: one more week!!!). But seriously, though, can the Stars do this sort of thing every time the Chicago Blackhawks are in town? Pretty please? [The Tampa Tribune]

Philippe Desrosiers and Remi Elie are your first two Stars prospects to advance to the next round of playoffs in the Canadian junior leagues. Jason Dickinson, Brent Moran and Aaron Haydon are all still playing, while Brett Pollock was eliminated. [Winnipeg Free Press]

Jack Eichel is pretty much a lock to win the Hobey Baker award as the NCAA’s best player, and deservedly so. [The Hockey News]

SportsNet’s Elliotte Friedman is the best talking head in hockey, and recently had another edition of his weekly “30 Thoughts” column come out, talking about Alex Ovechkin and much, much more. At this point he should be required reading every week for hockey fans. Seriously, he’s fantastic. [SportsNet]

And finally…who knew that John Scott was the real-life personification of Happy Gilmore? I’d never thought about it until now, but it really does make perfect sense:
