Hey, Harls is back.

It was bound to happen at some point – the dominant run the Dallas Stars have been on for – checks notes – over a month now couldn’t go without a blip forever. And that’s just what we got last night in Minnesota – a blip. It happens. Let’s look on the bright side, shall we?

Folks, that is unreal. Special teams has been so good lately for the Stars. There really is something special about this team. Mark my words.

But if you really want to get caught up on the not-so-fun evening in St. Paul, I’ll leave that to the always incredible Robert Tiffin.

In the Starverse

Again, a blip, I say.

I wanted to bring this up, only because it was essentially the polar opposite of the commentator curse. Josh Bogorad mentioned on the broadcast that the Stars were one of only three teams to NOT score a shorthanded goal this season. On top of that, the Wild were one of only five teams to not ALLOW a shorthanded goal this season. Then less than thirty seconds later, you’re up Miro…

It’s pretty much a sick joke at this point. Hoping it tis but a flesh wound.

Elsewhere, in the #MDK Division

It was a busy night in the NHL last night, with several from the Central in action. Just a quick note, by my count, there were 92 goals in the 13 games last night (over 7 goals per game on average – if you like math). Busy night indeed.

  • Unfortunately the Avalanche didn’t start a losing streak, dropping our next opponent, the Florida Panthers, 6-2 in a game that was never close. (ESPN)
  • The Avalanche-killer Predators, however, decided to continue their fantasy behind a 4-goal night for Steven Stamkos, beating the lowly Blues 7-2 at home. (NHL.com)
  • The Jets continue to question just what kind of team they want to be – losing 6-3 to a surprising Bruins team in Winnipeg. (NHL.com)

Just a couple of games in the NHL tonight, but they both feature Central division foes. The Blackhawks face the Blues in St. Louis, and the Kraken visit the Mammoth.
