Oh yeah, we have another Finn making noise.
It’s gameday, and I’m going to preemptively call it good vibes day. Game 5 in Dallas was certainly not perfect – playoff games never are – but on the scale of good vibes, I’m calling the last couple of days a ten. Stars fans have the Finnish Mafia back at full strength*, Jake Oettinger had an almost complete shutdown performance in net, Mikael Granlund reminded everyone he was a splashy trade-deadline pickup too, and Wyatt Johnston had a birthday. And oh yeah, the Stars won game four to put the second round series against the Winnipeg Jets to 3-1 in favor of the boys in Victory Green.
Game 5 is tonight and I’m hoping the good vibes continue. Let’s get to it!
* Yes, Miro Heiskanen isn’t quite at his superhero full-strength yet, but a 50-75% Miro is better than like 90% of NHL defensemen. Fight me.

Looking forward to more of this tonight.

I don’t know if you caught this the other day, but a pretty great interview with Jamie Benn about his career playing alongside Tyler Seguin.
.@DallasStars captain Jamie Benn in 2016: “As I improved as a player, the roster around me got better as well. It started to feel like we were building toward something.

But the biggest move, no doubt, was getting Tyler Seguin.

Did you see this side-by-side of Mikael Granlund’s goal?
Mikael Granlund’s 2nd goal last night looked eerily similar to his 4 Nations OT-winner against Sweden (plus, watch who Granlund hugs first 🇫🇮) pic.twitter.com/QJ1n44d7Nf
