Joe Pavelski has been keeping busy since his retirement from professional hockey this past offseason.

While you may not see Joe Pavelski on the ice anymore, you can catch him on the green. D Magazine contributor Sean Shapiro had the opportunity to catch up with Pavs on what life has been like off the ice.

Per Shapiro:

“Pavelski is more involved coaching his son’s team, the 14U Madison Capitals, he’s more involved in his off-ice business ventures, and he’s also been able to add his first “professional” golf win.”

You may be asking yourself, what is his first “professional” golf win? Great question! Pavelski finally participated in the celebrity division at the LPGA Tournament of Champions in Orlando, Florida. It is a tournament he has wanted to participate in for years but was unable to due to it occurring during the NHL season. Now that he is retired, he finally got the opportunity to participate, which is by invite only. Beyond his victory here, he plans on participating in the American Century Golf Championship, where he has finished second several times, in addition to a couple other tournaments.

You may now be asking yourself, that’s great he’s involved in golf, but what about hockey?

According to Shapiro:

“From a hockey perspective, Pavelski seems pretty content with how life has gone. Coaching Nate’s team has become a priority, and drive a bit of his competitive spirit — Pavelski pointed out the current quest for 14U Madison Capitals to reach the USA Hockey national tournament this spring — and while he effectively has an open offer from the Stars to work their someday, he’s not rushing to ask Jim Nill for a job in hockey operations. He’s also getting his hockey fix occasionally talking to close friends that run the Madison Capitals USHL team.”

So there you have it folks. It’s great to see Pavelski is fully embracing life off the ice but one could hope that once Pavelski gets his fulfillment dominating on the green, he returns to Victory Green in some capacity. Stars Nation would certainly welcome him with open arms.
