Dallas Stars Daily Links: Blues Knot Series at One After 4-3 Overtime Win

After rallying back from a two-goal deficit to tie the game 3-3 late in the third, the Stars couldn’t quite put together an overtime win in Game 2. Instead, Blues captain David Backes came up big on the power play after an interference call on Antoine Roussel.

Here’s Mike Heika to help you put the loss in perspective.

The drama of playoff hockey can be exhilarating, nauseating and humbling all at the same time.
And just imagine if you’re playing.
The Stars are still in their adolescence as a playoff team, and that showed Sunday afternoon at American Airlines Center in a 4-3 overtime loss to the St. Louis Blues. But being tied after two games in the second round best-of-seven series and seeing a group of young players learn a few lessons isn’t the worst thing in the world, coach Lindy Ruff said.

On the hot-button topic of Roussel’s penalty, Cody Eakin had this to say.

While Eakin added: “The guy goes out and puts his body on the line every game, and he doesn’t get many calls against him. He’s obviously frustrated taking them, but he’ll change up for next game and he’ll be real sharp.”

After the game, Jamie Benn talked with the media about the team’s comeback attempt and Kari Lehtonen’s play.
