Dallas Stars Cut 17 Players, Texas Stars Announce Training Camp Roster

This morning the Dallas Stars announcer further cuts to the training camp roster. 17 players have been released from their tryouts or loaned to the Texas Stars. The 17 are detailed in the press release below. No one expected to compete for a roster spot this season was unexpectedly sent away.

DALLAS STARS REDUCE TRAINING CAMP ROSTER BY SEVENTEEN

FRISCO, Texas – Dallas Stars General Manager Jim Nill announced today that the team has reduced the training camp roster by 17 players. The Stars training camp roster now stands at 36 players.

The following 17 players have been either returned to their respective club or released from their tryout:

Texas Stars training camp opens officially on Tuesday. The 17 players above will report for physicals tomorrow along with eight others hoping to make an impression. The most notable among those eight is former Texas Star Greg Rallo. If you’re in Austin and looking for some hockey you can check out the Texas Stars in preseason action 10-2 and 10-4.

The big club hits the ice again tonight at seven. With a smaller pool of players taking up ice time the real competition is coming into the foreground.
