Semyon Varlamov doesn’t look great tonight, but that doesn’t take away from what a good shot this was. This goal put them up 3-1. The top line with Eakin centering Tyler Seguin and Jamie Benn has been flying up and down the ice.
This was Eakin’s first goal of the season and the 43rd of his career. If he keeps playing up top with the big guys the career high of 19 goals that he set last year is in serious jeopardy.
Unfortunately Colorado also scored a couple. The first was by Erik Johnson on a screen.
