Dallas Stars 2013-2014 Top Moment #9: Kari Lehtonen Sits On Top Of Net In 7-3 Win Over Calgary Flames

Top Moment of the Dallas Stars 2013-2014 season #9 is the 7-3 win over the Calgary Flames.

As part of our look back at the season that was, the DBD staff has put together a Top 10 list of the best moments of the season, moments that occurred within the course of the year that were highlights of this particular team and it's fight to the playoffs. They're ranked from 1-10, and we'll present them in reverse order, leading up to the top moment of the 2013-2014 season.

Early in the season, the Dallas Stars had trouble finding their game. At times, they looked lost in the system they were trying to implement. There were plenty of defensive gaffes, and inconsistent scoring.

Then the Stars went to Canada in November.

An emphatic win over the Calgary Flames showed Stars fans what this team was capable of. A fast-paced system that was an exciting type of hockey to watch. A dynamic first line featuring Jamie Benn, Tyler Seguin and Valeri Nichushkin that could dominate the league when they're on.

Seguin scored four goals that night. It was the first four goal game of his career, and one of three hat tricks he scored this year. (He had only one career hat trick before this year in the NHL.) His shot was really on display, like when he scored on this power play.

Benn set a career high with six total points in the game (1G, 5A). His chemistry with Seguin led to plenty of highlight reel goals for the duo, but this might be one of the best ones of the year.

With the game really in hand, one of the best memes of the Stars season was born. Kari Lehtonen, who didn't have to be particularly sharp to get the win -- most likely one of his easiest W's of the season was this night -- sat on top of the goal with less than two minutes left in the game.

The image of Lehtonen sitting on top of the net hit the Internet, featured on Puck Daddy that very evening. Thus the meme was born. He was photoshopped onto bicycles. Horses. That strange motorized vehicle from Star Wars. Santa's lap (probably asking for a defense to play in front of him at times and offensive support at others.)

But my favorite one was when he made an appearance on Miley Cyrus' wrecking ball.
