It’s an awfully long way from Austin, Texas to St John’s, Newfoundland. A roughly seven hour flight and a 2.5 hour time change, to be exact.
With just one day between games 2 and 3, the Texas Stars will have to use their same road mentality they had this season to push through that kind of travel.
Fun fact I learned from Stephen Meserve at Hundred Degree Hockey: the IceCaps have sold out 130 straight games…that’s the same number of games they’ve been around as a franchise. Needless to say, that crowd probably gives the IceCaps one heck of a home ice advantage.
Scoring first (and often) would certainly help wrest that home ice advantage away from the home team.
