Video: Stars & Wild Scrum Results in Multiple Fights, Sucker Punches

This was quite the scene. If you missed this live, you’ll want to take a few minutes of your time to watch this.

The Dallas Stars led the Minnesota Wild 5-0 with just under 8 minutes to go in the second period.

As Kari Lehtonen went to freeze the puck, Ryan Carter decked an unsuspecting Trevor Daley. Hello, subsequent scrum!

Vernon Fiddler immediately engaged Carter in a fight to stand up for Daley. But that wasn’t the only fight taking place. Jason Demers was simultaneously fighting Stu Bickel. Even Daley wanted a piece of Bickel.

As Fiddler skated toward the box, the Stars fans in attendance treated him to a thunderous ovation.

In this scrum, Bickel accumulated 37 penalty minutes. He had 39 for the whole game in 1:29 of ice time. That has to be some sort of record.

I mean, just look at this.

Clearly, the Wild were frustrated with how the game was going. The Stars destroyed them 7-1 when all was said and done.

And now, here’s the video of the scrum, courtesy of hockeyfights.com.
