Stars begin their West Coast road trip tonight against the Anaheim Ducks
It’s back on the road for the Stars, who are looking to extend their winning streak to six games against the Ducks tonight. The Stars have the opportunity to extend their winning streak to nine games before they break for the Four Nations Faceoff which begins on February 12th.
Tonight will be the second game where we get to see new additions, Mikael Granlund and Cody Ceci take the ice. The Stars will be coming in looking to avenge their loss to the Ducks back in November. Their roster is different looking now than it was then, but hopefully they have the momentum on their side to skate away with a victory tonight. Saturday’s game will be the most interesting, where the Stars travel to San Jose in what will be a very quick reunion for Granlund and Ceci.
Sandwiched in the middle of those two games is a faceoff against the Kings, which will undoubtedly be the toughest matchup of this road trip. The Stars dropped their last matchup against the Kings as well back in December so this will be somewhat of a revenge tour.
DBD Nation, how do we feel about this West Coast road trip? Full sweep? Two wins? One win? Let us hear your thoughts!

Around The Central
We have several Central Division teams hosting dinner tonight:
- The St. Louis Blues host the Edmonton Oilers. Shouldn’t be much of a game so I suggest playing blues music to this one…
- The Winnipeg Jets are wining and dining the Carolina Hurricanes. The Jets are serving it hot, winners of six straight.
- The Utah Hockey Club is wooing the Philadelphia Flyers, who are looking to hand the Hockey Club their sixth straight loss. The Hockey Club will need to do a lot of wooing tonight to avoid dropping another game.
Meanwhile, we have a couple Central Division teams (aside from the Stars) being flattered with platters tonight:
- The Colorado Avalanche are guests of honor in Vancouver tonight against the Canucks.
- The Minnesota Wild have a date with the Boston Bruins in the Gahden.
In last night’s lone game, the Predators continue to be preyed upon…

Another young, fun player to watch for years to come. Glad he’s not in our division…
Tim Stützle (23 years, 19 days) became the youngest player in @Senators history at the time of his 300th NHL point, besting Marian Hossa (24 years, 63 days).
