Whether it’s the Stanley Cup or your neighborhood beer league, winning a hockey championship is always a fun experience.

Dallas Stars prospect Jacob Peterson got a pretty good taste of that feeling this past week, as his Frolunda team won the SHL title by defeating Djurgarden in six games.

I can’t speak Swedish, but I could wager a pretty good guess about what Peterson is saying in the video below. The facial expressions do a good job telling the story.

Peterson finished the SHL playoffs with four goals and four assists in 16 games, which put him eighth among points by a forward on his team. That’s a pretty impressive amount of production considering his 10:12 of average ice time was just 12th among regular forwards.

As a fun bit of Dallas Stars trivia, former Star Joel Lundqvist is Frolunda’s longtime captain. This was the 37 year-old’s fourth SHL championship.

A pretty good prospect who flies under the radar a bit in the Stars’ system, Peterson has at least one more year in Sweden before potentially crossing the pond to play in North America.

ECHL

The Idaho Steelheads have officially been eliminated from the playoffs, falling in six games to the Tulsa Oilers.

A few different Stars prospects dressed for the Steelheads at various points in the 2018-19 season, but the only one on the ice during the playoffs was 21-year-old Czech defenseman Ondrej Vala. Vala played in all 11 of Idaho’s playoff games, going pointless while picking up four minutes in penalties and a +1 rating.

OHL

Tye Felhaber and the Ottawa 67’s currently hold a 2-1 series lead over Liam Hawel and the Guelph Storm in the OHL finals. Guelph’s 7-2 victory on Monday night is the only game that Ottawa has lost all postseason.

Felhaber has three goals in the series thus far, while Hawel has one assist.
