The wait is over: The Dallas Stars have announced the selection of best-selling country duo Dan + Shay as the official intermission entertainment for the 2020 Winter Classic. The pair will be broadcast live from the Cotton Bowl during the first break.
The minds behind the 2018 hit “Tequila” have released three albums and seven platinum-certified singles, including six No. 1 hits: “Tequila,” “Speechless,” “All To Myself,” “Nothin’ Like You,” “From The Ground Up” and “How Not To.”
Most recently, they’ve received two Grammy Award nominations for Best Country Duo/Group Performance and Best Country Song for “Speechless.”
Tyler Seguin may appreciate the fact that the pair have a Justin Bieber feature on their new track. That song, “10,000 Hours,” is the first by a country duo or group ever to debut in the Billboard Hot 100’s top five. (Thanks, Beebs.)
Fans are already questioning why a Nashville-based group has received this honor during a game to be played in one of Dallas’ most storied venues. But then, they’ve already been questioning why the NHL has declared country music as the perfect WC soundtrack for a team whose goal song was written and performed by Pantera. Go figure.

They also announced Dan + Shay The (Arena) Tour, a 35+ date tour presented by AEG Presents, with their show at Madison Square Garden selling out in less than 90 minutes.
