Dallas Stars Daily Links: On the Road Again

New, comments

Let’s all hope that the upcoming four game road trip is a sort of “comeback tour” for Dallas. Plus, the Stars take on the Sabres this afternoon, struggling veterans around the league, and more.

Much like other Dallas based sports teams, but things don’t look good for the Dallas Stars right now Sitting at 1-4-1, the team is about to embark on a four game road trip in desperate need of some success:

“It’s playoff mode for us,” Radek Faksa said. “We need to step up, because teams are winning and it’s so hard to catch those teams later on. We have to have a really good road trip, get at least three wins and doesn’t matter if we win 2-1 or 1-0, we have to just win games.”

Optimists will point out that it’s still early in the season, and that teams like the Vegas Golden Knights and St. Louis Blues started last season slowly but eventually recovered. But the Stars aren’t being optimists — they’re being realists:

“Everyone in here, including myself, needs to have a playoff mentality going on this road trip,” Tyler Seguin said. “Everyone knows that a St. Louis season doesn’t happen every year. It just doesn’t happen. So, if we think that we can get into those shoes and you know … we’re too good of a team to be playing this bad so far to start the year.”
