The Dallas Stars have selected Oskar Bäck as the newest member of the organization. He was selected 75th overall in the third round of the 2018 NHL Entry Draft.

Back is from Hammarö, Sweden and is 6’3” and weighs 205 pounds. He has most recently played with Färjestad BK in the SuperElit league. He recorded 10 goals, 22 assists, and 32 points in 38 games played during the 2018-2019 season. He was also part of Sweden’s bronze medal teams for the Hlinka Memorial and the U18 World Juniors Championship.

Elite Prospects has this to say about his style of play:

Short backhand passes are his favorite way to combine with his linemates, usually after using his frame to shield the puck.

Bäck has committed to BIK Kaklskoga in the Allsvenskan for the 2018-2019 season, so he will have at least one more season to develop before joining the Stars in Dallas. His defensive ability will make him a solid third line center, but his offensive strength will need some growth before joining the NHL.
