Dallas Stars Daily Links: Texas Hockey History Center Opens Wednesday

Fans visiting for the draft will have a new attraction to check out. Plus, happy late Father’s Day, and T-minus three days until the NHL Draft!

Happy Monday, everyone! There was a lot of soccer, golf, and baseball yesterday, but unfortunately not much in the way of hockey coverage, so links are a bit light today. Enjoy your week!

The Texas Hockey History Center opens on Wednesday at the Dr. Pepper StarCenter in Farmers Branch, and it seems like it will be a pretty cool place to visit:

The museum, which is on the second floor of the Dr Pepper StarCenter and overlooks both surfaces in Farmers Branch, provides a walk-through of Texas’ hockey history dating back almost a century. There are a pair of skates that were used to play pick-up hockey in the 1920s. There is an old flier from that same era which promotes an exhibition game between teams from Dallas and San Antonio, which says the game was “Sponsored by Tony Burkholder for mere sport of the game.”

See more about the museum in Sean Shapiro’s piece here.

Let’s hope the Stars can make as good a draft pick this year as well:
