Happy Monday, everyone! Hockey content was a bit hard to come by yesterday, what with it being Sunday, there being only one game played, and lots of people watching golf and wrestling for some reason.
Mike Heika wrote a quick piece about what the Dallas Stars need to figure out between now and when training camp starts. It’s pretty brief, so I don’t want to use any quotes from it here, but he ponders on the futures of GM Jim Nill, head coach Ken Hitchcock, Tyler Seguin, backup goaltenders, and scoring depth. See the article at Mike’s place. [SportsDayDFW]
Stars Stuff
As of putting the links together, this hasn’t been confirmed by the Stars, but it looks like they made a signing yesterday:
Extremely happy to announce I have signed my first NHL contract with the dallasstars I want to… https://t.co/xiLQdc64JI

Excellent reporting here:
.@JokkeNevalainen did a mid-season NHL scoring equivalence for NCAA players. Calderone is projected as a 35ish point forward in the NHL, and ranks favorably compared to a number of names contributing this year in the NHL (like COL’s Kerfoot). pic.twitter.com/Lbie7LQOnx

Hey look, someone in the Stars organization won a championship! Hopefully this pedigree and experience will come in handy some day:

The Stars made some moves:
Defenseman Dillon Heatherington and goaltender Mike McKenna have been assigned to the Texas Stars. https://t.co/FVn8VmHDw3

Mike McKenna enjoyed his time with the Dallas Stars, but is pumped to get back to the Texas Stars:
Incredibly thankful for the opportunity with the @DallasStars the past month or so. There's nothing like the NHL!

Now it's time for the playoff push with @TexasStars...the best time of the year!

Around the League
The Florida Panthers beat the Boston Bruins in the final game of the NHL season yesterday... [SportsNet]
...which means that:
Boston finished 4th in the overall NHL standings. Toronto finished tied for 6th. They play each other in the first round. What a brutal draw for both.
