Dallas Stars Prospect Update: Minnesota-Duluth, Riley Tufte, Fall In Frozen Four Final

The Stars’ European prospects are still advancing through their playoffs

North American Juniors and NCAA

OHL

Despite Nicholas Caamano’s season ending with the Flint Firebirds he signed an entry level contract with the Dallas Stars and an amateur tryout (ATO) with the Texas Stars to finish the season in the AHL.

WHL

Ondrej Vala’s season with the Kamloops Blazers ended last Sunday after they dropped game six to the Kelowna Rockets.

He finished with a single goal through six games in the playoffs for the Blazers.

NCAA

Riley Tufte’s season in the NCAA finished on Saturday as Minnesota Duluth lost in the Frozen Four championship final to Denver.

Tufte had advanced past Harvard in the semifinal in a 2-1 win on Thursday however they lost the championship game 3-2.

Tufte had one of two goals for Minnesota Duluth to put them within one with minutes left in the third but it was too little too late.

Throughout the entire NCAA season he finished with 16 points through 34 regular and postseason games.

Europe

Sweden

Niklas Hansson did not play in any games for HV71 this week as they advanced past Farjestad.

John Nyberg played three games for Frolunda as they beat Skelleftea in seven games.

He went pointless in all three games and currently has no points through 11 playoff games for Frolunda.

Nyberg continues to average around 20 minutes of ice time per game for Frolunda.

Finland

Roope Hintz played three games for HIFK in the playoffs this week. All three games were part of their semifinal series against Tappara.

He finished with a pair of assists but Tappara are currently holding a 2-1 series advantage.

He got his first assist during the second game of the series, a 5-2 loss, and his second assist in the third game, a 3-2 win.
