Stars forward Patrick Eaves played in his 600th NHL game yesterday afternoon, and he made the most of it scoring 2 goals in the 5-2 win over the Hurricanes. Eaves set a career high mark for goals with 21 and Dallas played one of their best games of the season.
"It kind of just happened tonight. It's pretty cool," Eaves said of setting the new career mark in goals for a season. "We just wanted to play well after the road trip we had and play a full 60 minutes. I thought we did a lot of things right tonight."
Dallas put up a 3 goal 1st period starting with Esa Lindell’s end to end rush followed by Eaves 1st of the night and 22 seconds later Curtis Mckenzie banked one in off a Carolina defender to stake the team to an early lead.
“Finally we got a little bit of puck luck, I hope we didn’t use it all up in one game said Coach Ruff We’ve talked about finishing and getting the bounce here and there but it hasn’t come our way. I thought those early goals, even with [Curtis] McKenzie’s goal, the effort was good but you have to get a little bit of luck at the same time and today I thought we got that.”

One former CHL player Zach Franko thinks the lawsuit to have league teams pay their players a minimum wage is frivolous.
"As a proud WHL and CHL alumni, I find it embarrassing that players are asking for more money," Franko wrote. "Tell me what responsibilities do we as 16-20 year-old boys have that we need money for? Our teams cover our gear, living expenses, food, put roofs over our heads, and take us in like one of their own children." (The Score)
