Dallas Stars Prospect Update: Riley Tufte Triples Points Total, Caamano Scores Three Goals

Meanwhile many of the Stars’ European prospects had good weeks.

North American Juniors and NCAA

OHL

Nicholas Caamano had a trio of goals for the Flint Firebirds this week along with a shootout winner.

During a 5-4SO win on Wednesday against the Sault Ste Marie Greyhounds he scored the game tying goal on the backhand beforing adding the shootout winner.

The two teams faced each other again on Friday but this time the Greyhounds came out on top with a 5-4 win.

Caamano scored a pair of goals in the loss and was named second star of the game. Highlights can be watched here.

Chris Martenet played three games with the Ottawa 67s this week and finished pointless through all of them.

WHL

Ondrej Vala had a single assist this week for the Kamloops Blazers through three games.

He assisted on the Blazers overtime winner on Saturday during a 5-4OT win.

NCAA

Mike Prapavessis played one game for the RPI Engineers this week and finished pointless in the 3-2OT loss to Union.

He has 11 points in 23 games for RPI.

Joseph Cecconi played two games for Michigan, including a stint on their top defensive pairing, but finished pointless through both games against their rivals, Michigan State.

Rhett Gardner finished pointless through two losses against fellow Stars prospect’s Minnesota Duluth team.

Riley Tufte on the other hand broke out offensively, trebling his points total for the season.

He had three goals and an assist in two games against North Dakota. He scored two goals on Friday as they won 5-3 and added a goal and an assist on Saturday during a 4-0 win.

Colton Point did not play for Colgate this weekend.

Europe

Sweden

Niklas Hansson played three games for HV71 this weekend and finished pointless. His average time on ice per game has started to increase but his ice time high this week was only 15 minutes.

John Nyberg got his tenth point of the season this week with a single assist in his only game of the week.

He got the assist as Frolunda lost 3-2 to Skelleftea and played over 20 minutes.

Frolunda also advanced to the Champions Hockey League finals this week with their 4-0 win against Fribourg-Gotteron.

Nyberg played on Frolunda’s top defensive pairing in the game.

Fredrik Karstrom had a trio of assists for AIK in the Allsvenska this week.

Jakob Stenqvist had a single assist for MODO in the two games he played this week. This brings his points total up to five points in 29 games, good enough for tied second in defensive scoring for MODO.

Finland

Roope Hintz scored his eighth goal of the season this week during a 8-3 loss to the Pelicans.

He also racked up 12 penalty minutes against the team Sport after being given a minor and a ten minute game misconduct for a check from behind on goaltender Joonas Rask.

Hintz has 15 points in 28 games.

Aleksi Makela got his second point of the year this week, getting an assist during Assat’s 3-2 win against the Pelicans.

Slovakia

Matej Paulovic finished pointless in two games for HC Nove Zamky this week.
