After saying goodbye to Alex Goligoski and Vernon Fiddler, the Stars will need to pick two new alternate captains. Could the team go with a player new to wearing Victory Green? Here's the case for defenseman Dan Hamhuis.
Notable: Hamhuis just got to Dallas by signing a contract this offseason. He might not have any experience with the Stars under his belt yet, but he was an alternate captain with the Vancouver Canucks. What's even more impressive is that he was named an alternate captain for the Canadian National Men's team for the 2015 IIHF Ice Hockey World Championships. The man who gave him that honor? Stars GM Jim Nill.
Tyler Seguin is another guy who could end up with an A.
Notable: Jamie Benn and Tyler Seguin are two of the most exciting players in the game today. Since his arrival in Dallas Seguin has been good for at least 33 goals and 40 assists per season. Off the ice he's known for his charity work and engaging with fans with his Seguin selfie before every home game. He's one of the biggest stars in all of D-FW sports, along with bromance buddy Jamie Benn. He's still on the younger side, like Klingberg, but he's one of Dallas' best players.
