Lindy Ruff Third in Jack Adams Voting; Barry Trotz Named Coach of the Year

In his third season with the Dallas Stars, coach Lindy Ruff received one first-place vote and finished third in the Jack Adams Award voting for NHL coach of the year. He finished with 75 points, well behind winner Barry Trotz of the Washington Capitals.

Florida's Gerard Gallant, who led a team no one thought much of in the fall to a playoff berth and apparent resurgence, was second with 20 first-place votes to Trotz's 58. Bruce Boudreau, recently fired by Anaheim and hired by Minnesota, finished fourth.
