Defending Big D Donates $500 To Pevs Protects

New, comment

Through sales of a special t-shirt design, and our partners at BreakingT, the Defending Big D community raised $500 which was donated to Pevs Protects.

Near the anniversary of former Dallas Stars forward Rich Peverley's cardiac event in Dallas earlier this spring, Defending Big D designed a special t-shirt that shows that Peverley lives on Deep in the Heart of Dallas.

We partnered with Breaking T to design and produce the special shirts. They are the softest t-shirts we've worn and they are top notch quality. Breaking T partnered with us to raise $5 per t-shirt sold that would be donated to Pevs Protects, Peverley's charity.

Pevs Protects aims to raise funds to purchase Automated External Defibrillators (AEDs), the same machine that Dallas Stars doctors and trainers used to save Peverley's life after he collapsed on the bench during a regular season game against the Columbus Blue Jackets.

Additionally, the charity hopes to train and educate members of the community on the correct usage of these life-saving machines.

This is the second fundraiser Defending Big D has done in honor of Rich Peverley. Shortly after the incident, the community raised approximately $1,700 in cash donations which was donated to Living For Zachary, a Dallas-based charity that raises fund to donate AEDs to youth sports organizations among. We raised enough to purchase an AED for a Garland-area youth sports facility during that charitable drive.

Thank you to everyone for your continued support of these very worthwhile charitable causes!
