Dallas Stars Daily Links: Stars Snap Skid, Down Devils 4-2

New, comments

The Stars defeated the Devils 4-2 last night. Plus, Vern Fiddler talks about his time with the Stars, and doubt continues to be a prevalent force in the Big D.

The Hockey Gods give, the Hockey Gods take away. Although the Stars grabbed a much-needed win against the Devils last night, they also lost John Klingberg to a lower-body injury. Fortunately, Klingberg shouldn't be out of the lineup for too long.

And despite another playing going out alongside Patrick Sharp, Jordie Benn, Travis Moen, and Patrick Eaves, the win was a good sign for the Stars and their young stars, says Mike Heika.

Nichushkin had a goal and an assist, Mattias Janmark, 22, had two assists, and Brett Ritchie, 22, finished with eight hits and a nice fight. It was a strong statement for a Stars team that has a great pool of prospects but has generally leaned on veterans for the heavy lifting this season.

Vern Fiddler, who scored his 100th career goal with an empty-netter in the third period, was certainly happy about the win.
