Dallas Stars Prospect Update: Two European Prospects Have Good Weeks

Fredrik Karlstrom and Roope Hintz both had excellent weeks in their respective leagues.

NOTE: This update was written before Sunday evening’s games.

North American Juniors and NCAA

OHL

Nick Caamano played two games for the Flint Firebirds this week. He finished with a single goal, his tenth of the season.

He scored the goal during a 5-2 loss to Owen Sound Attack.

Chris Martenet got his second assist of the season through three games for the London Knights this week.

He got the assist as the Knights beat the Niagara Icedogs 8-2.

WHL

Ondrej Vala got his fifth goal of the year and his tenth point of the season in the WHL this week.

He got the goal as the Blazers beat the Tri City Americans 6-5. Highlights of the game can be found here.

NCAA

Michael Prapavessis played two games for the RPI Engineers this week and finished pointless through both of them.

He was back in the lineup after being scratched for a game the week before.

Joseph Cecconi played in an exhibition game this week against the USA U18 team. Cecconi finished with a pair of assists during a 6-3 win.

Rhett Gardner finished with a goal and an assist through two games for the University of North Dakota this week.

He got both points as North Dakota beat St. Cloud state 3-0 on Saturday.

Riley Tufte finished pointless this week for Minnesota Duluth as they won a pair of games against Omaha.

Colton Point did not play for Colgate this week.

Europe

Sweden

Niklas Hansson played two games for HV71 this week and finished pointless through both games.

John Nyberg played three games for Frolunda and had his fifth point of the season.

He got an assist during a 5-0 win against Orebro.

Fredrik Karlstrom had a five point week in the Allsvenska this week for AIK.

He got four of those points during a 5-2 win against BIK Karlskoga. He had three assists and a goal in the game.

Karlstrom had another assist during a 4-2 win against Timra on Saturday.

Jakob Stenqvist got his first point in the Allsvenska on Friday as MODO beat Bjorkloven 4-3. He scored the opening goal in the contest.

Finland

Roope Hintz had a three point week in Finland. He had a goal and an assist on Tuesday during a 3-1 win against Ilves.

He was named second star of the game in the contest.

Hintz also had an assist in a 4-2 loss to TPS on Friday.

Aleksi Makela finished pointless this week for Assat. He hasn’t registered a point in 19 games in the Liiga this year.

Slovakia

Matej Paulovic currently has seven points in 22 games for HC Nove Zamky.
