NOTE: This prospect update was written before Sunday evening’s games.

North American Juniors and NCAA

OHL

Nick Caamano continued his streak in the OHL, adding two points in his last two games. He’s now got 15 points through seven games, and has at least one point in each of those seven games.

On Friday Caamano finished with a single assist during a 3-2 shootout loss to the Mississauga Steelheads. He missed his shootout attempt. Highlights of the game can be found here.

The Flint Firebirds dropped their second game of the week, losing to the Erie Otters 5-3. Caamano added another assist during this game. Highlights of the game can be found here.

Chris Martenet did not play this week, he is week to week with an upper body injury.

NCAA

Michael Prapavessis played two games this week for the RPI Engineers. He finished pointless through both losses to Maine.

Joseph Cecconi was shuffled between the second and third defensive pairings for Michigan and finished pointless through a win and a loss this weekend.

Rhett Gardner played one game this week before suffering a lower body injury. He is week to week.

Gardner got a goal during North Dakota’s first game of the season, a 6-0 drubbing of Canisius.

Riley Tufte also remains out with injury.

Colton Point has not played for Colgate this week.

Europe

Sweden

Niklas Hansson played two games for HV71 this week. He finished pointless in both games and averaged 18 minutes of ice time per game. Hansson currently has an assist through five games.

John Nyberg scored his first goal of the season this week during a 3-1 win against Vaxjo. He opened the scoring at the end of the first period.

Fredrik Karlstrom went pointless through the one game he played in this week for AIK.

Jakob Stenqvist had a three point week this week in the Swedish Juniors. He got all three points during a 4-0 win against Skelleftea on Saturday.

He scored a goal and had two assists in the win. He has eight points through 11 games.

Finland

Aleksi Makela played two games in the Liiga this week and went pointless through both. He averaged 11 minutes of ice time in each game.

Roope Hintz remains out with injury and has not played this season.

Miro Karjalainen was sent back to the juniors this week. He only played one game and finished the game with 37 penalty minutes after taking a total of 25 penalty minutes for a check to the head and a ten minute penalty for unsportsmanlike conduct.

I can’t find any official word but I imagine that he would have likely been suspended for the hit.

Slovakia

Matej Paulovic played two games this week in Slovakia and finished pointless through both.
