2016 NHL Draft First Round Open Thread

The 2016 NHL Draft in Buffalo is about to get underway with Auston Matthews expected to be the first overall pick by the Toronto Maple Leafs.

The Dallas Stars currently have only one first round pick, 25th overall but that could all change as trades begin to be made. There is already a lot of speculation abound and one rumour, unconfirmed, that the Dallas Stars’ Patrick Sharp could be available.

Will Jim Nill trade the first round pick to try and improve right now? Could the Dallas Stars move up or down in the draft order? Who will the Dallas Stars pick?

If the Dallas Stars do pick 25th it will be the third time they have picked 25th, selecting Steve Ott in 2000 and Brenden Morrow in 1997.

We’ll bring you analysis of the next prospect to don the Victory Green jersey and any breaking trade news that may occur.

Join us throughout the evening as we watch the first round of the 2016 NHL Draft unfold. Let the fun begin.
